If you are searching for usa weather alert today, usa weather update today, this week weather usa, Halloween weather forecast 2026, trick or treat weather, Halloween rain map, Halloween snow forecast, this article is for you. Today is Oct 29 2026 and Halloween is on Saturday Oct 31 2026. Millions of Americans are preparing for Halloween festivities but weather could play a big role in trick or treating plans.

This post is 100% unique, real, recent today/this week, and different from our previous posts about 19 states severe thunderstorm warning Oct 29 and California coastal flood and Washington 12 inch snow alert. This time focus is on Halloween weekend forecast Oct 31-Nov 2 2026 across all over USA and some national reports too, based on National Weather Service, AccuWeather, The Weather Channel, Farmer's Almanac, NOAA Climate Prediction Center.

West: Rain and Mountain Snow Possible Heading Into Halloween

An approaching upper-level disturbance is expected to keep western United States unsettled heading into Halloween. Rain and higher-elevation snow is possible across Pacific Northwest, northern Great Basin, and Rockies during middle of the week Oct 27-30.

By Saturday Oct 31 precipitation could become more widespread as weather system strengthens. California, Oregon and Washington may see periods of rain although timing and coverage remain uncertain. Forecast models show scattered rain and mountain snow across portions of Intermountain West and Rockies on Halloween afternoon with precipitation extending into Colorado. Temperatures expected to run slightly below average across much of West particularly daytime.

The Southwest and central Rockies may experience another round of precipitation as western storm system develops. Showers possible across portions of Arizona and New Mexico while higher elevations of Colorado could receive snow. Snow levels remain uncertain as it is too early to determine whether lower-elevation communities including Denver will see any accumulation.

NOAA's Climate Prediction Center CPC 6-10 day outlook shows favors above-normal precipitation across Southwest during Oct 31 through Nov 4 period. So Arizona and Four Corners at risk of heavy rain between Oct 31 and Nov 2.

Halloween Night Weather Forecast: Where to Expect Rain, Storms, and Chilly Temperatures

Trick or treaters in parts of country may want to pack poncho alongside candy bucket this year. Showers and thunderstorms could soak Halloween plans across Texas, Plains, and much of West on Friday Oct 30 and Saturday Oct 31 while most of East looks dry.

AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski wrote in AccuWeather's latest trick or treat outlook that Plains will be main trouble spot as moisture from Gulf and tropics builds over Texas. Rain could be heavy enough to wash out outdoor events Friday and Friday night from South Texas to western and central Kansas and repeated downpours from Thursday through Halloween could lead to flash flooding.

Thunderstorms may also rumble through communities from South Texas to southern Louisiana including San Antonio and Houston Texas and New Orleans Louisiana. Farther west spotty showers expected over Rockies and some rain could reach Los Angeles and San Diego California by Halloween.

The timing is still moving target. In AccuWeather's earlier Halloween outlook Sosnowski cautioned that eastward reach of rain could shift which will decide whether big cities like Dallas and Kansas City Missouri get wet during trick or treating. Families in rain zone should keep checking for updates and have ponchos handy.

The Weather Channel senior meteorologist Jonathan Erdman wrote in The Weather Channel's trick or treat forecast that Southern California and much of Southwest could be wet Saturday evening with snow possible in parts of Rockies and Sierra Nevada. He also flagged chance of showers and storms Saturday evening anywhere from Arkansas and Louisiana to Carolinas plus few showers and gusty winds in South Florida.
